So I’ll eventually get around to the real post, most likely after Christmas. But here’s my initial stream of consciousness.
I couldn’t help but think that was it? Although I suppose it’s as good an ending for a story that’s still only half told, but I’m going to be pissed if we don’t get the Chiru arc eventually. DVD sales be damned (maybe another studio will want it).
More to the point, I couldn’t help but feel like the whole rapid-fire blue/red text scene was rushed so they could fit in 4 arcs worth of revelations and mystery mongering in about 10 minutes. Those feelings were exacerbated by Beatrice choosing to not cut down Battler’s hypotheses, when clearly many of them were totally ridiculous (although I was impressed by his hypothesis for the Kinzo name change, and the Nanjo death in arc 3). Thankfully Lambda called that ridiculousness out. So I guess we’ll see Beatrice become a more sympathetic character – maybe even a protagonist – should we ever see the Chiru arcs animated. Anyway, more thoughts later. Merry Christmas!
