Even though I haven’t really enjoyed Key’s works before, Angel Beats was one of the shows I was looking most forward to this spring, if only because it sounded like Key was breaking out of their typical depressing harem mold. And to that effect, the first episode was a big success. Interesting story, likeable characters, chances of depressing harem developing low, lots of action, good looking show.
Well, I guess I might as well write this since I’m still around. But I’m going to go out on a limb here. B Gata H Kei will be the best comedy of the season. Better than Arakawa. Better than K-ON. Better than Working. Or any of the other 2-bit harem comedies.
This is what I writing before I watch Heroman, where I make my expectations clear. While I am a Stan Lee fangirl, I have what I think are realistic standards. The actual story is going to be so cheesy it’s actually funny. The action is going to be awesome. Hopefully, the anime will do the right thing, and have more action then story, else it might kill it. The hero will fall into two categories, either a total nerd such as Peter Parker or Reed Richards, or with some perfect all American guy. Also, Stan Lee will make a cameo somewhere. I will keep track of how many characters have names who has last names and first names start with the first letter. Overall, I expect it to be good fun, and nothing more.
I’m glad April Fool’s is finally over, because I can finally post this without people thinking it’s a big joke. But I’m taking a
hiatus vacation. "Hiatus" has such a negative connotation to it, especially in the aniblogsphere, so I’m rebranding it as "vacation." Continue reading “It’s not a hiatus, it’s a vacation! (and not an April Fool’s joke)”
I could’ve sworn that episode 12 would be the last of the series. The whole thing seemed to be aiming to end on a big final showdown with Class A vs Class F. Now though it seems like the series will end with some morality lecturing on what’s important in life, a bit of romantic plot tidying up, and some gags. It’s a shame since these last two episodes have been really strong and ending it all on a wishy-washy note will make the whole series fall flat. But these last two episodes were good so I’m happy enough.
