The Summer 2010 Anime Preview!

My new thing is being late on everything. Sadly this will probably continue until I can stop wasting my time looking for a new job. Man, you want to talk about a circle jerk. But I digress.

Anyway, welcome to the summer preview. Everyone knows summer’s all about the bikinis, beaches and babes, so it should come as no surprise that the season is chock full of harem comedies. Sadly, it looks like we’re looking at another season without one show that you could hang your hat on as a potential classic or megahit. But whatever, onto t preview.

Amagami SS

Amagami SS

A second-year high school boy finds himself uneasy during Christmas time due to an experience in the past. However, this year at Christmas, he gets his last chance to ask out a graduating female senior named Haruka Morishima — or one of several other classmates. Based on a PS2 game, the story of the anime will be arranged in an omnibus format, with each heroine getting her own version of the story animated. Each heroine will sing her own version of the ending theme song. – MAL

Studio: AIC

Listen for: Nazuka Kaori, Itou Shizuka, Yukana, Satou Rina, Shintani Ryoko, Konno Hiromi

Director: Yoshimasa Hiraike (Mayoi Neko Overrun, Working!!)

LIbera: Sounds like yet another romance that will never reach an actual conclusion. Nothing in the summary or images makes this stand out since I have no interest in sexy hair (on girls) or ending songs. I’ll try but I’m not expecting to stay.
Anticipation meter: 5

Janette: I am actually really excited about this. It’s hard to describe, just a gut feeling that I think this is going to something good. Also, with Sasameki Koto, I know that when AIC wants to, they can write a lovely romance. I like the idea that the show will focus on all the romantic possibilities rather then going the route in these VN adaptations that they pick a girl, and tough luck to the others, or pick no one.
Anticipation meter: 8

RP: What is this? An AIC harem without nekomimis? Actually, for some reason I have this sneaking suspicion that Amagami could end up being surprisingly touching, like Hatsukoi Limited. I base that suspicion on nothing but a hunch. Oh, and I’m rooting for the twin-tails girl to get the supreme final ending.
Anticipation meter: 6

The final word: If you think there should be no losers in love (or are a fan of polygamy), you’ll like this show.

Asobi ni Iku yo!

Based on Kamino Okina’s Asobi ni Iku yo! light novel series. The story revolves around Kakazu Kio, an ordinary high school freshman living in Okinawa. A girl with cat ears appears before him during a memorial service for one of his family ancestors. The girl calls herself Eris and claims she is an alien. Before long, fanatical alien worshippers and a mysterious government agency are in hot pursuit of Eris, but Kio’s childhood friend Manami — who wants to follow in her father’s footsteps in the CIA — captures Eris. Kio finds himself having to protect Eris from everyone. – ANN

Studio: AIC Plus+

Listen for: Hanazawa Kana, Tomatsu Haruka, Inoue Kikuko, Toyosaki Aki, Kotobuki Minako

Director: Ueda Youichi (Bamboo Blade)

LIbera: Two girls are mentioned in the summary and I’m already sensing a harem. And it looks like there’s going to be a truckload of fanservice. I can’t summon any enthusiasm for this, nothing at all is making me want to watch it.
Anticipation meter: 4

Janette: Why is always cat ears? Seriously? I’ve never got the appeal. For once, I want to see a cat girl act like an actual cat. Anyway, as I don’t understand the appeal of ears, nor do I understand any appeal of the show. There’s a tiny chance it’ll turn out well, but I doubt it.
Anticipation meter: 2

RP: Another AIC harem based on a PS2 game? Ok, I’m glad to see the nekomimi graduated to AIC double-plus. To answer Janette’s question, cat ears are super smexy. And when a girl goes ~nyah it brings all the boys to the yard. Anyway, AIC Plus+ doesn’t have much of a track record, but I can only assume that Plus+ means they got the animation talent. Plus, they got the hot, up and coming seiyuus, so I’m gonna bet this show looks a lot cooler.
Anticipation meter: 3

The final word: If you like your nekomimi bubbly and bouncy, you’ll like this show.

High School of the Dead

The world is over taken with a very deadly disease that turns humans into zombies. In Japan, several students of Fujimi High School, and the school nurse, band together to survive the present apocalypse. The story follows Takashi Komuro, one of the students who survived in the initial outbreak. – AniDB

Studio: Madhouse

Listen for: Sawashiro Miyuki, Hiyama Nobuyuki, Suwabe Junichi, Fukui Yukari, Inoue Marina, Kitamura Eri, Miyano Mamoru, Taketatsu Ayana

Director: Araki Tetsurou (Death Note, Aoi Bungaku)

LIbera: Notice how all the promo pictures seem to be full of girls and not much clothes. Surely this is a show designed for a female audience, along with the second season of Strike Witches that for some reason exists instead of a second season of Mushishi. Come on Madhouse, can’t you make something that doesn’t immediately turn off half the population?
Anticipation meter: 3

Janette: Zombies make everything, including anime seasons better? On one hand, I’m not a big fan of horror, on the other hand, I’m willing to try anything in anime. This sounds like it could be really dramatic or exciting, or really dumb and cheesy, but with Madhouse on this, it’s should be the dramatic and exciting. Oh, and bloody.
Anticipation meter: 7

RP: I’m not really a big fan of traditional horror movies. Nor am I a particular fan of zombies (except for Shaun of the Dead, that movie rocked), but the cast and crew for HSOTD has me thinking this could be damn good. Tetsurou is great at setting a tense atmosphere and the seiyu lineup is boss. And the T&A? It wouldn’t be a classic zombie story without it (it’s one of the requisites for "classic" style horror).
Anticipation meter: 7

The final word: If you like your horror gory, and your T&A copious, you’ll like this show.

Based on Sakurai Norio‘s Mitsudomoe gag manga. The somewhat precocious and sadistic girl ‘Mitsuba’, the somewhat lecherous muscle girl ‘Futaba’, and the somewhat mysterious girl ‘Hitoha’. Better known as the (mischievous) "Marui Sisters", this is the story of how these three triplets go about their days in Class 6-3 with their cute yet wild antics. – AniDB

Studio: Bridge

Listen for: Tomatsu Haruka, Takagaki Ayahi, Akesaka Satomi, Chihara Minori, Toyosaki Aki, Saito Chiwa

Director: Oota Masahiko (the original Minami-Ke)

LIbera: Watching kids picking on other kids in horrible, cringe-worthy ways just isn’t my thing. It tends to gross me out.
Anticipation meter: 4

Janette: This show will either a fun little romp, or a terrible mess. As it is, the only way to know is to wait and see.
Anticipation meter: 6

RP: I’d be willing to give Mitsudomoe a shot, because Oota directed the original Minami-Ke, which IMO is one of the top 5 slice of life shows ever. On the other hand, watching the trailer, I thought, "looks like Ichigo Mashimaro, feels like Kodomo no Jikan." For a show about little kids, the humor was a little too… charged let’s say, for my tastes. Pass. Anticipation meter: 3

The final word: If you like to your loli kawaii to be ecchi, you’ll like this show.

Nurarihyon no Mago

In the story, Nura Rikuo, a kid who is part human and a quarter youkai (demon), lives in a house full of spirits along with his grandfather. Trying to escape his fate of acting like a demon, he does good deeds in order to avoid becoming one — despite his grandfather’s wish to succeed him as master of the Nurari youkai clan. – AniDB

Studio: DEEN

Listen for: Hirano Aya, Fukuyama Jun, Horie Yui, Sakurai Takahiro

Director: Nishimura Junji (True Tears, Simoun)

LIbera: Hurray for shonen anime! And it has a white-haired part demon main character in it, though from what I read about the manga the main guy has more in common with the dude from DNAngel rather than Inuyasha, except without the art-stealing thing. The manga also supposedly starts out slow but gets better but it is Deen adapting this so it’s all a bit hit-and-miss when it comes to them. I’ll probably blog this, espicially if they stick in some fight scenes and a few bishies.
Anticipation meter: 8

Janette: On one hand, the premise appeals to me. I do admit, I have a weakness for the occult. On the other hand, DEEN hasn’t impressed me since Umineko no Naku Koro Ni, and even that ended on a weak note.
Anticipation meter: 5

RP: Aya-chan’s back! I feel like I haven’t heard from her in ages. I know this type of show. Interesting premise, good director, excellent cast. But it’s one of those shows that will just fall off my radar as soon as I finish writing this.
Anticipation meter: 4

The final word: If you like your heroes with industrial strength hair spray, you’ll like this show

Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi

The story centres around Ookami Ryouko, a high school freshman girl known for her fierce looks, unusual canine teeth when she smiles, and wild demeanour (her family name is homonymous with the Japanese word for "wolf"). Akai Ringo is a short high school freshman girl with seemingly cute, angelic looks but a dark demeanour (her name is a Japanese wordplay on "apple" and "Red Riding Hood"). Together with their odd friends, the two fight to change the world, one issue at a time. – AniDB

Studio: JC Staff

Listen for: Itou Kanae, Irino Miyu, Shizuka Itou, Horie Yui, Toyosaki Aki, Kawasumi Ayako

Director: Iwasaki Yoshiaki (Hayate no Gotoku 2, Love Hina, Zero no Tsukaima)

LIbera: Hey, this actually looks like it could be entertaining, though parody shows do tend to get old after a while (Example, I dropped Hayate at episode 16). If this runs for over a season, I’ll probably drop it but for now, sure why not.
Anticipation meter: 7

Janette: Everyone keeps beating on the show for having a ‘Taiga’ rip-off, but I think it looks like a fun show. On top of that, while J.C. Staff has it’s misses as well as it’s hits, it’s still a studio I have a soft spot for.
Anticipation meter: 8

RP: Any JC Staff show that doesn’t feature Rie Kugimiya automatically becomes a big plus in my book. Don’t get me wrong, I like her… but I’ve just been overexposed. It’s highly likely my hatred for Taiga and Toradora has 95% to do with Kugimiya voicing Taiga. But replacing her with Hinagiku, Hocchan, Yui and Nodame? Just exponentially plussed that former big plus. I’m looking forward to this. Yoshiaki is also an excellent director who does a great job with romcoms, even though I think Love Hina sucked balls.
Anticipation meter: 7

The final word: If you thought Rie Kugimiya ruined Toradora, you’ll like this show.

Osaka Hamlet

The omnibus manga collects a variety of stories about Osaka dwellers and the problems they face. It ran in Futabasha’s Manga Action seinen magazine from 2005 to 2006 and again from 2008 onward. The manga won an award of excellence in the manga division of the 10th Media Arts Festival Awards in 2006, and it then won the Short Work Award in the 11th Annual Tezuka Cultural Prizes in the following year. -ANN

Studio: ?

Listen for: ?

Director: ?

Janette: I think this sounds absolutely fascinating. I’ve heard that the manga has won a lot of awards. The one problem? I have to face the realistic possibility that this show probably won’t be subbed. If it is though, I will  watch it.
Anticipation meter: 8

RP: Damn, animation has really come a long way these days. Look how realistic it looks! Whattya mean that screenshot doesn’t come from the show? How would you know? There’s no information about the show anyway.
No interest

The final word: Uh… If you like being completely surprised? Maybe you’ll like this show?

Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin (Occult Academy)

It is the year 1999. In Nagano Matsushiro stands the pyramid of Japan, the private Voltstein Academy. This place is famous for the repeated occurrences of occult phenomenon within its premises. Hence, it is also called the Occult Academy. The dean is committed to studying the occult, while the students are zealous in their everyday schoolwork. One day, the dean passes away and his occult-hating daughter, Kumashiro Maya, visits the academy. There, she meets a self-proclaimed spoon-bending "time agent" from the year 2012, Uchida Fumiaki. As the two encounters various bizarre phenomenon within the academy, the reason for Fumiaki’s timeslip to 1999 becomes clear. – AniDB

Studio: A-1 Pictures

Listen for: Hikasa Yoko, Mizushima Takahiro, Koyasu Takehito

Director: Itou Tomohiko (Assistant Director for Toki o Kakeru Shoujo)

LIbera: It’s the next installment in the Chikara timeslot, which has yet to produce anything all that groundbreaking. The summary sounds like it’d be an interesting watch but the promo picture isn’t really my kind of thing. It could go either way at this point so I’ll stick around until it does.
Anticipation meter: 6

Janette: I really like the description, the story appeals to me. However, with Anime no Chikara’s previous works, I’m wary. I enjoyed Sora no Woto, but expected more. I was expecting an awesome spy drama with Senkou no Night Raid, and got super heroes instead that I wasn’t as interested in. I’m wary, but optimistic. After all, you have to be special to mess up occult to the point that *I* dislike it.
Anticipation meter: 6

RP: I know Itou didn’t direct Toki o Kakeru Shoujo, but if you were going to pick someone to direct a story involving time travel, wouldn’t you pick someone who worked on that movie in some shape or form? I know the stories will be completely different, but it’s gotta boost the chances that this could be a good show.
Anticipation meter: 7

The final word: If you like poking holes in the time-space continuum, you’ll like this show.

Seitokai Yakuindomo

Based on Ujiie Tozen‘s Seitokai Yakuindomo slice-of-life comedy manga. The stage is set at Ousai Private Academy which, due to declining birth rates, has transitioned from an all-girls high school to a co-ed. The current ratio of male to female students is 28:524. Takatoshi is a new student in the recently gender-integrated high school. He’s asked to join the student council as the vice president. Thus begins his days as the only normal boy among 3 female student council officers… – AniDB/MAL

Studio: Go Hands

Listen for: Hikasa Yoko, Yahagi Sayuri, Satou Satomi, Asanuma Shintaro, Kato Emiri, Kobayashi Yuu

Director: Kanazawa Hiromitsu (Princess Lover!)

LIbera: It’s another anime about a student council with only one male  member but I doubt that this guy is looking for a "harem ending". Plus this isn’t a parody show, it’s a 4koma. I’m not saying it’s going to be horrible, just that I don’t know what to expect but my expectations aren’t all that high. It may be enjoyable but that depends if it’s got good humour or not.
Anticipation meter: 7

Janette: "We just did Kaichou wa Maid-Sama, so let’s do a reverse of that! With really crappy animation and…"
No interest

RP: Ugh, Princess Lover was really boring. Bringing back both the studio and the director for it? Whose good idea was that? Plus, I liked this better when it was called Seitokai no Ichizon. Pass.
Anticipation meter: 2

The final word: If you like your student council harems with a pinch of generic, you’ll like this show

During a fiercely hot summer in Sotoba, a peaceful and quiet village with a population of 1300 people, a series of bizarre deaths begin to occur. At the same time, a strange family moves into a long abandoned mansion in the region. Hospital dean Toshio Ozaki cannot figure out the cause of death in the deceased, initially suspecting an epidemic. As investigations continue between the hospital staff and the residents, it turns out that the village is being attacked by vampires. – MAL

Studio: Daume

Listen for: Yuuki Aoi, Okitsu Kazuyuki, Ookawa Tooru, Tomatsu Haruka

Director: Amino Tetsurou (Macross 7)

LIbera: So the summary mentions vampires but the promo picture has a werewolf. I dunno, I’m still a bit against stories with vampires and werewolves after reading Twilight (and if you haven’t read Twilight yet, don’t). Other than that, this does look promising. Noitamina timeslot and award winning novelist does brighten things up somewhat.
Anticipation meter: 7

Janette: Oh man. Oh man oh man oh man oh man. I’ve been excited about this ever since I saw a trailer for it several months ago. The credentials behind this seem to prove I have every reason to be excited.
Anticipation meter: 10

RP: In case you’re wondering what the hubbub over the Noitamina time slot is for, check out the Wikipedia page, but basically the quality ranges from interesting to brilliant (although recently they’ve been more miss than hit IMO, personally I’m most looking forward to the live-action Moyashimon… because that anime had the most ridiculously hot girls… uh and traps too I guess. Hopefully the live action lives up to that standard, but I digress…). Vampires get a bad rap lately because of Twilight. But IMO, Twilight is just a big ripoff of the very excellent Joss Whedon Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel series. That aired back when vampires weren’t all pop-culture cool (they used to be just geeky cool). Now Twilight casts a shadow on every vampire work, which isn’t quite fair. I think the premise for Shiki is definitely interesting enough to warrant a watch. My major concern is with Director Tetsurou and his long history of directing crappy shows.
Anticipation meter: 8

The final word: If you like to cream your jeans at the thought of the latest Noitamina show, you’ll like this show.

Shukufuku no Campanella

The story takes place in a trading city Ert’Aria. Leicester Maycraft is an item engineer belonging to an adventurer guild "Oasis". One night, he is at a party with his friends to see a meteor stream on the rooftop of a chapel. One meteor grazes them and hits the steeple of the chapel. There he finds a secret room and a sleeping girl. The girl wakes up and says "You must be my father!". The encounter with the mysterious girl brings an unexpected adventure to Leicester. – MAL

Studio: AIC

Listen for: Kadowaki Mai, Goto Yuko, Takano Naoko, Mizuhashi Kaori, Goto Mai

Director: Ushiro Shinji (Omamori Himari)

LIbera: Yeah, what the hell is up with this summary? And another thing, what’s with the lack of bishies this season? Everything here is aimed towards guys. Come on, half the population hasn’t anything to watch here! Anyway, this isn’t my thing either. Couldn’t even sit through the trailer.
Anticipation meter: 4

Janette: I don’t understand anything about this description, except it reminds me that parenthood terrifies me. It looks kinda cute though, maybe I’ll give the first episode a shot.
Anticipation meter: 3

RP: AIC is so busy these days. Harems, harems, harems. Are they the new Gonzo? Anyway, this looks like another lame game adaptation. They didn’t even get the a-list talent for this one, so you can probably assume it sucks. You know what game I want to see AIC adapt? Luminous Arc. That would be awesome and right up their alley.
Anticipation meter: 3

The final word: If you like your harems wonderful and magical like an iPad, you’ll like this show.

Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu (The Legend of the Legendary Heroes)

Ryner Lute is a lazy student of Roland Empire Royal Magician’s school. One day, Roland Empire goes to war against a neighboring country Estaboole, and he lost his classmates in the battle. After the war, Lute sets out for a journey to search the relics of a "Legendary Hero" at Emperor Sion Astal’s command. And he finds out that a deadly curse is spreading through the continent. – MAL

Studio: ZEXCS

Listen for: Ono Daisuke, Takagaki Ayahi, Fukuyama Jun, Sugita Tomokazu, Sawashiro Miyuki, Hino Satoshi

Director: Kawasaki Itsurou (Chrome Shelled Regios, Sengoku Basara)

LIbera: I went and sourced out a scan of the first chapter out of interest and I have this to say. The world itself is original but there wasn’t a single original character in the entire group. I’m thinking about blogging this so hopefully having Jun Fukuyama voicing the main character and a possibility of flashy animated fight scenes will make up for the genericness and the fact that this is being done by ZEXCS.
Anticipation meter: 7

Janette: I’d think this would be great if it weren’t for the fact that ZEXCS is doing this.
Anticipation meter: 2

RP: Damnit, Daisuke Ono’s in this, so I have to watch this right? Ugh, I labeled it as "26 episodes of mediocrity" to Libera. I’m an Ono fanboy, but I’m not sure I want to sit through this.
Anticipation meter: 3

The final word: If you like impressing people with your use of alliteration, you’ll like this show.

Tono to Issho

Adaptation of Tono to Issho 4-panel gag manga. The manga follows the humorous exploits of generals during Japan’s tumultuous Sengoku (Era of the Warring States) period. – AniDB

Studio: Gathering

Listen for: Noto Mamiko, Sugita Tomokazu, Kobayashi Yuu

Director: Mankyuu (noob)

LIbera: I should really learn more about Japan’s history. Then maybe I could watch all these historical anime and they’d make a bit more sense.
Anticipation meter: 5

Janette: I’ve never seen Psgels give something such a low rating.
No interest.

RP: What’s the over/under on this show getting subbed? 0%?
No interest.

The final word: If you like the premise of Sengoku Basara, but thought it would be better if it was completely different, you’ll like this show.

Sengoku Basara 2

Studio: Production IG

Director: Nomura Kazuya (noob)

Janette: I never watched the first season, I don’t like watching shows I haven’t seen the first season of.
No interest.

RP: I’ll definitely watch this. I’m not sure if I’ll write about it, as the first season was sort of difficult to write for, because there were long stretches where nothing happened. But here’s what I want to see out of Basara 2 (which hopefully has a larger budget this time around): more fights, longer fights, less bullshit in between fights, and cleaner animation. Basically, if an episode doesn’t have at least 2 major fights it shouldn’t exist. I’d rather see an epic 6 episode season than a 12 episode grind.
Anticipation meter: 9

The final word: If you like non-stop action wrapping around boring filler, you’ll like this show.

Strike Witches 2

Studio: AIC

Director: Takamura Kazuhiro (Strike Witches 1)

Janette: I haven’t seen the first season of Strike Witches, and am saving it for when I want to watch something I know I’ll find awful, but maybe AIC can do better with it?
No interest.

RP: Hurray! I’ve been waiting all year for this show. The first Strike Witches was an underrated gem. Now we get the same cast and crew, and I know AIC will do make this show look as awesome as it should. Sounds like a winning plan. I don’t plan on writing about Strike Witches – mostly because I don’t want to say anything that gets me arrested – but I will most definitely be watching it. What I hope for this season: less of Yoshika, Mio, Lynette, Gertrud and Minna. Way more of Erica. And more of Sanya, Eila, Lucchini and Perrine. Did I mention way more Erica? She totally got the shaft in the first season. I mean, she’s the best fighter on the team for goodness sake!
Anticipation meter: 10

The final word: If you like girls, you’ll like this show.

Kuroshitsuji 2

Studio: A-1 Pictures

Director: Ogura Hirofumi (noob)

Janette: On one hand, I never saw season 1, on the other, it looks like it doesn’t matter. I still feel like I should watch the first season though…
No interest.

RP: The award for most unnecessary sequel goes to Kuroshitsuji. It’s not like the original was all that great either, it felt like one big missed opportunity. But the one thing that made the show worthwhile was Sebastian. Who cares about a Kuroshitsuji without Sebastian. Not I.
No interest.

The final word: If you like a little homoerotic tension between butler and child master, you’ll like this show.

Sekirei: Pure Engagement

Studio: Seven Arcs

Director: Kusakawa Keizou (Mahou Shoujo Lyrical A’s)

Janette: I didn’t watch the first season, and this looks like a snooze fest.
No interest.

RP: Uh, I haven’t seen this either, I just kept it on the list for thoroughness sake.
No interest.

The final word: If you like your haremmettes to swing their wares freely, you’ll like this show.

10 Replies to “The Summer 2010 Anime Preview!”

  1. Good luck finding a new job RP, I was wondering why you’ve been kind of late recently.

I’d agree that there’s no sure bet for this season, though my hopes reside mostly with Amagami. Shiki would be on my first tier of expected quality, but I’ve been burned too much by Ookami Kakushi to go into a horror/mystery show without being very cautious. But you know all about that, don’t you RP? Will be giving a couple series a try though.

Glad to see that all the bloggers here have strong interest in blogging at least one series. Haven’t seen Libera around in a while.

Wow, someone actually anticipating Strike Witches 2? The world never ceases to amaze me 😛

    1. Thanks, much appreciated. Although a lot of the recent delays has been more because I’ve been in catchup mode for most of the season.

Heh, you can’t let Ookami sour you on the horror/mystery category. If we’re lucky Shiki will be this season’s Higurashi (and not this season’s Vampire Bund).

Yep, Libera will be back, probably taking NuraMago. Janette will be around continuing Heroman and continuing K-ON if that’s a 2-cour season. And I guess I’ll be around to sweep things up. 😛

Strike Witches is perhaps the most brilliant franchise to ever grace anime! 😮

Edit: After looking at the picture above more closely… Strike Witches could definitely do without the cameltoe though.

  2. 💡 How about combining your scores and showing the order they come in according to your merged anticipation? What’s that you say? I have already included such an analysis below? Why, yes, it does appear that I have!

Summer 2010 (excluding sequels) sorted by merged score:

    Shiki: 7+10+8/3= 8.33
    Ookami-san: 7+8+7/3= 7.33
    Amagami: 5+8+6/3= 6.33
    Occult Academy: 6+6+7/3= 6.33
    HSotDead: 3+7+7/3= 5.67
    Nurarihyon no Mago: 8+5+4/3= 5.67
    Mitsudomoe: 4+6+3/3= 4.33
    Osaka Hamlet: 8+0/2= 4
    Legend of Legend: 7+2+3/3= 4
    Shuku-Campanella: 4+3+3/3= 3.33
Asobi ni Iku yo: 4+2+3/3= 3
    Seitokai Yakuindomo: 7+0+2/3= 3
    Tono to Issho: 5+0+0/3= 1.67

  3. Congrats on your new job and I wish you luck!

On the Summer Season, I don’t think I will watch anything since none of the shows really interest me… but I do have enough to occupy myself throughout the summer since Kaichou wa Maid-sama and probably K-ON!! are 24 episode shows… plus I have my backlog I need to finish. 🙂

  4. ‘And another thing, what’s with the lack of bishies this season? ‘

Damn right. Still, might check out LOTLH and KII for that reason, otherwise will prob just watch Shiki for the anticipated awesomeness, and maybe Occult Academy for the laughs. In terms of blogging this season, well let’s just say yay for the retro- kind for now…

  5. just got into some anime, found your website and read this preview. I watched alot of these shows Highschool of the Dead was the only one i liked but i think some of the others had a good drive
