Extending the writer deadline

It was always my intent to extend the deadline for the spring season, but after some thinking, I figured it made no sense to lock out the other 50 weeks of the year and potentially miss out on talented writers. So the “join the team” option is now a persistent navigation item above. With that said, the deadline for the spring season has been extended to Saturday, March 5. Two weeks is much more symmetrical than 8 days. Click the join link to apply.

Also, in other news, I’ve ended the ReplyMe plugin experiment. ReplyMe is a plugin that sends an email to you if someone replies to your comment. You’ve probably noticed it here over the last couple weeks. Although I thought the feature was useful (I forget where I comment all the time), the lack of an opt-out feature bugged me too much, so I’ve shelved it for now.

  1. Regarding ReplyMe: I also have a hard time keeping track of places I have commented, thus probably miss many replies, so I understand why you tried it, but I agree that opt-out is courteous and possibly important (since it is hard to know what the effect of receiving a bunch of unexpected emails will have on another person).

Hopefully you will receive lots of good submissions from new writers. And good luck to those applying!

  2. I am hoping before that I could be a writer in any field but I guess I was not doing good in my college English that I am having hard time being a writer 😀 Hope I could try that ReplyMe plugin. It find it very helpful
