30-sai no Hoken Taiiku, Episode 6: Is it over [yet]?

Finally we’re getting somewhere!

Oh jeez, I've lost track of how many times I've seen confessions in this show already.

Starting off from where 30-sai no Hoken Taiiku left off in the last episode, we are shown a quick summary of what Hayao has been doing for the past 3 months (from the end of the 5th episode to the start of this episode). Anyways, we get to see a dated and much more detailed log presented by Daigorou and later we get to see a condensed version from Macaron. During the 3 month period, Hayao has apparently been jogging, doing push ups, nail trimming, shaving his head, skin care, and shaving.

May I introduce you to the Gillete Fusion razor series?

Anyways, according to our dearly beloved Daigorou, all of Hayao’s “suffering” has not gone to waste. In fact, Daigorou goes as far as to embellish Hayao’s current image (and yes, embellish. Like the type of drawing you would see in a shoujo manga).

Shoujo anime?

Alright I could go on forever about the funny pictures in Daigorou’s log, but that isn’t the main point of this episode. After an entire 3 months, Hayao is ready to challenge the herculean task of asking out Natsu once more. Now now now, don’t get all biased and say “Oh, he’ll get rejected for sure because it’s only the 6th episode and the rejections have been a running gag”. Well, I’ll have to say that is partially true. The rejections have become a staple joke for 30-sai; however, this joke can’t continue forever. I mean, we’re already HALFWAY through this series. The whole point of 30-sai no Hoken Taiiku is for Hayao to get laid, not just being in a relationship.

Daigorou never disappoints.

So, I’m not sure how Hayao managed to get Natsu onto the top floor of the library she works at, but anyways, he asks her out again and…

Jesus! Who could’ve predicted that. Wait. There’s like 6 minutes left in this episode at this point. Could there be more to it?

Now that's just rape.

Well duh? Isn’t this the whole point of the episode? LOL.

Anyways, Natsu, failing to control her emotions, goes all AKField on Hayao again. However, instead of getting vaporized, Hayao actually manages to fight back, and somehow prevail. Not through physical force of course. Who would hit a girl? Anyways, Hayao deactivates Natsu’s AKField with the power of the almighty hug. Not quite friend zone, but hey, it’s progress I tell ya!

After overcoming Natsu’s AKField, Hayao sincerely asks Natsu that if she doesn’t like him, then she should just formally reject him or tell him why. However, Natsu fails to deliver and replies that she doesn’t hate him, but she just can’t act normally around Hayao.

Anyways…we have about 2 minutes worth of cliche scenes and the result is…

Finally something gets done in this series! I mean, we’ve endured 6 episodes of 30-sai, and alas, we have finally achieved something meaningful in this show!

Regardless, as usual, this week’s 30-sai was as funny as ever and of course, featured another one of Hayao’s rejections. However, this time, the rejection later turned into an acceptance. Not bad, for a 13 minute episode show. Basically, everything about this episode was great, except for the fact that they had a 3 month time skip. Anyways, since they’ve finally “officially” started dating, I can’t wait fro Friday Night 30-sai no Hoken Taiiku!!

  1. Yeah! I totally agree with what you’ve said!
It took them long enough to have some actual plot development.
    But better late than never!
I can’t wait for next week’s episode to begin as well! I would love to see what type of a couple Natsu and Hayao will be
